Hey Bear Fans, the time has come…

So the time is now upon us Chicagoans. The Bears and the Packers are finally in a playoff game, together.

You can mention all the stats you want, like it’s been 25 years since the Bears have been to the Super Bowl, or it’s been 80 years since the Bears and Packers have played against each other in a playoff game, or Devin Hesters record breaking run; but the fact remains that the Bears have 60 minutes to find a way to shut down Green Bay, and protect Cutler from another concussion.

Those that know me, know that I don’t make predictions on Bears games, I’m superstitious that way. I will say that this will be a long, tough, and gut wrenching game for any real Bear fan. We will all be thinking of that game on January 2nd that ended in a 3-10 loss by the Bears. That same game was the key to the Packers entering the playoffs. If only we had converted that 3rd down, score that touchdown we would be facing another team.

In my opinion, it is only fitting that we face our arch rival in this playoff game. Think about how much meaning this single game has. Its not only the NFC Championship on the line, but soooooo much more. It will define the winner’s superiority until they meet again in 80 years. Every regular season game where these two teams meet will never measure up to this single 60 minute spectacle.

I will leave you with this final thought, Bear down Chicago Bears…

The Samsung Tablet

Yesterday, Sprint announced that it would be adding the Samsung Galaxy Tab to their line-up.  They are offering it at a lower price point than Verizon.  When a “wanting”consumer chooses the Sprint iteration, they get the device for a measly $499.  They also must commit to a 2 year agreement and choose from the $20 2GB plan or the $60 5GB plan.  Overall, the Tab seems like it’ll be a cool little device to have to do “stuff” with.  I’m still trying to figure out what would be the best use for this device.  Forgive me, I’m just barely getting used to me iPad.

The key word there is “little”.  As a reluctant iPad owner (I’ll explain that another time), I can attest to the fact that anything less than 9.7″ is just a really big phone, or a netbook without a keyboard.  Actually, most netbooks have at least 9-10″ screens.  There’s probably going to be a lot of zoomin’ going on with this Tab.

And Sprint really dropped the ball by not shooting for a 4G version.  I mean really!  It would have given them an easy edge over the Verizon version.  At least until Verizon launches LTE and Sprint shuts down the WiMax…..

Anyway, I think the concept of the device is great, and that Samsung can do great things in this segment.  I do feel that it was kind of rushed to market because no one was trying to take on the iPad.  Well, this surely isn’t going to take any significant marketshare from Mr. Jobs.

PlatinumTel (my employer)

It’s only fitting that my first post be about the place where I spend 50+ hours a week. PlatinumTel Wireless.

What is PlatinumTel Wireless, you might ask.
We are a nationwide provider of prepaid wireless service, offering the least expensive pay as you wireless plan in the U.S. The company was founded in 2001 by 3 entrepreneurs who saw the future of wireless going to prepaid. Man, were they right! They have a lot of firsts under their belt too. They were the first to offer an online activations system, even before all the big carriers. They were the first to offer an option for customers to add airtime online. They were also the first to offer customers the option to ad airtime with as little at $10.

PlatinumTel Now.
2010 marked some very cool things for PlatinumTel. We partnered with embee mobile to offer customers free airtime through Facebook. The biggest announcement came when we released our Real Paygo service. It’s the cheapest pay as you go wireless plan in the US. Customers can talk for only $.05 per minute, text for only $.02 per message, or surf the web for only $.10 per megabyte. We also offer an Unlimited plan that give customers unlimited talk and text with 100 MB of web for only $50 per month.

What’s on the horizon for PlatinumTel?
Soon you will see some very cool new devices, including Android. The first arrives in late November, the Sanyo Zio. It will be our first Android phone, running on Android 2.1. Look for more Android phones, as well as cool plans and features.

Don’t believe that we have the cheapest rates around, compare for yourself: http://www.platinumtel.com/plans/compare

Well, I’m Blogging again….

It’s been a while since I’ve done anything on my blog, so today I told myself, “Get your s_it together and do your blog”.  No, really, I said that out loud.

I’ve been doing a lot of tweeting and “facebooking” about all the stuff that interests or benefits me, so I figured why not also get my blog going again.
You might be asking yourself, “What do you have to say that is of any importance to me?”  And the answer is, I have no idea.  I’ll be talking about whatever is on my mind that day, week, month.  For example, there are some things that I will be blogging about in the near future, like:
And a bunch of other things that may or may not pertain to you, or may even be controversial.
Feel free to comment, critique, or argue with whatever I have to say.  Thank you Free Speech for letting us all say what we want about whatever we want, except for Michael Jordan and Walter Payton, do you EVER talk bad about them!
